Hoax Bomb Threat at South Delhi School: No Explosive Device Found

A private school in Greater Kailash, South Delhi, received an email bomb threat late at night, which led to a thorough search by the bomb detection team. The threat, aimed at Summer Fields School, was ultimately confirmed as a hoax following an extensive investigation by authorities.

The principal, Shalini Agarwal, reported that the email was received around midnight, prompting the school to evacuate students within 10 minutes and alert the police and district administration. "We are grateful for the immediate and supportive response from the police," Agarwal said.

Police and bomb squad personnel conducted a detailed search of the premises, but found no evidence of a bomb. The incident did not cause panic among parents, according to Agarwal.

This follows a recent directive from the Union home ministry in May, which called for detailed protocols and enhanced security measures in response to similar hoax threats targeting schools in Delhi-NCR. The ministry emphasized the importance of coordinating with law enforcement and improving security infrastructure to prevent such false alarms.
